Today it’s very hot
It is very hot in Italy these days. It’s hot even in Cerchiara. Francesca and I are spending a few days here, before travelling to the Netherlands.
We don’t lose the opportunity to “play” with the termal pool mud and swim in waters rich in sulfur.
We can easily reach fresh places near the Santuario or on the way to Plataci, under an old oak or a pine wood.
Easter Monday in Cerchiara (and vicinity)
Monday after Easter, in Italy, is an opportunity to organize picnics to welcome spring.
We spent a few days in our flat in Cerchiara and we decided to visit Altomonte on Easter Monday. Altomonte is mentioned among “The most beautiful villages in Italy “, an association between municipalities that is intended to safeguard small treasures that are out of the main tourist tracks. In particular in Altomonte there is the Church of Consolation, one of the best examples of Angevin period Gothic architecture.

After visiting Altomonte, we moved towards Lake Esaro, near a village named Roggiano Gravina.
And then wandering in the nearby area , unexpectedly we discovered Malvito with its Norman castle.

Walking through cemeteries and royal residences
For an Italian it may seem incredible, but in Sweden walking in a big cemetery, amongst the vegetation, is pleasant and relaxing.
And it is also amazing that a beautiful royal residence is open to the public and to allow everyone to spend a few hours enjoying the meadows, gardens, orchards …
Dinner with Friends
We had dinner at the home of a couple of young friends. Giovanni and Cecilia works in Stockholm for the European Union.
And there’s also their little Benjamin.
Walk to Mariefreds
At about forty kilometers from Stockholm there is a beautiful village on the lake, where the Mariefreds castle stands.
The castle is interesting for its original architecture.
Along its rich interiors, it is worth to sit near some window and imagine the view that the inhabitants had a few hundred years ago.
Tale of a wonderful day
We have an appointment with Mia and Soren, our Swedish friends. We’re going to Mia parents’ house to spend a day together and have a nice barbecue. The house is in the deep forest south of Stockholm.
To start, we visit a coal to procure the necessary for the barbecue.
They produce coal following ancient procedures and the show is fascinating.
Then we go to visit a workshop for the glass manufacture. We admire the beautiful glasses and meet the artist.
And it is also an opportunity to get to know Mia’s parents and their cute dog (and two friends of their dog).
The house in the wood is a really fascinating 19th century building.
And now we can take all the time necessary for a good drink and a hearty barbecue.
Art and friendship
We started the day by visiting an art gallery in Eldsbergs.
We have admired the works of an Malaysian artist who exposes worldwide and that these days is to Edsbergs. The works are very interesting and they consist of portraits and imaginary figures. In this photo Francesca is with the artist and with the art gallery manager.
Soon after we visited the nearby castle, which now houses a music school.
The furnishing is beautiful and Francesca took the opportunity to have a little relax and read.
Later in the afternoon, we met our Swedish friends in the vicinity of the Museum dedicated to Abba. We drank a beer and chatted pleasantly
Along the quays lining the sea there are many boats and we could see a trimaran.
Then we took a ferry to a small island.
In this photo we are taking a little rest in the sun.
After dinner, Francesca and I walked along a pond near the house.
And in the end we were overcome by fatigue.
Exploring Täby
Today, we have tried to learn more about Täby and its surroundings.
We started the day by visiting Täby Centrum. It’s a nice mall where we were able to enjoy an authentic Italian cappuccino.
But we have not lost the opportunity to do some shopping.
Francesca has appreciated a beautiful Rolls old and maybe it has not been working for a long time but always fascinating.
Later, Edsbergsparken greeted us with its park and with a magnificent view of the blue sea.
And there is no shortage of great size fish.
